How to change the device location on the POS

This article is for anyone who needs to change the location the software is set to. This will only apply to stores with multiple locations.

 

Some management features require changing the location a device is set to. To change the location do the following :

  1. Open Settings and Configuration

  2. It should already be in Devices but click the Devices tab if it is not.

  3. Select the device you are using.

  4. Click Manage or double-click the device.

  5. In the Manage Device window click the drop-down menu and select the location you want to switch to.

  6. Click Save. It will usually prompt to restart the app. Click Ok and restart the app.

A device can only change it’s location if it doesn’t have an open tray. If you receive an error message about having an open tray, return to the cash register and close out your current tray, and then try switching your location again.

Once you have restarted and logged back in you can continue with the tasks at the new location.
