Pinogy POS Training Guide: How to install and configure Astro Loyalty on the Pinogy POS
This article is for anyone who needs to install and configure the Astro Loyalty Add-on in the Pinogy POS.
Many stores use Astro Loyalty to attract customers to their stores. The Pinogy POS has Astro integration that can be applied with an add-on. Before Astro can be used with Pinogy, the store needs to email support@astroloyalty.com and request that the API be enabled for use with Pinogy POS on their account. After that is done, you can install the Astro Integration add-on.
To install the add-on:
Open the Settings and Configuration module
Click the Add-ons button
Click the New Add-ons button
Select the Astro Loyalty add-on and either double click it or highlight it and click Details.
Make sure to read the Description and click Create to add it to your installed Add Ons.
After the add-on has been added to your list of installed add-ons you will need to set up authentication. Reopen the add-on using the instructions above except Astro Loyalty will now be in the My Add Ons tab. Go to the Authentication tab. Enter the Astro login for the location. Each location will need to have its own login per Astro’s instructions. If the same login is used for multiple locations, then it can negatively affect the linking of Astro customers and tracking their sales accurately. We also recommend the creation of a store-specific login for each location,’s or owner's login can cause Astro to stop working if the password is changed. This is a common issue that results in Astro not updating until the password is updated in the add-on.
In addition to the username and password, you will also need to select the different program types that are offered. Points, Frequent Buyer, and Offers can be selected by putting a check in the checkbox to the right of the type.
The Options tab will let you force a sync with Astro in case you just enabled a program or one was updated, and you need to test or sell a product from it. Otherwise, it is fine to wait until the automatic sync occurs every hour. Save when done.
A couple of minutes after pressing “Sync Barcodes”, you will see a second button become available. Pressing that button will then open a spreadsheet that will show all Astro products in the programs you have selected, along with the corresponding POS Product if it exists. This allows you to review all product mappings and correct anything that is wrong. The most likely correction that would be needed would be for case Astro promotions. The matching barcode also needs to have the proper case quantity associated with it.
