How to require if a product return goes back to stock or not

This article is for anyone who needs to set their registers to force cashiers to mark returns so they go back to stock, or are non-resalable.

Passive question

By default, the POS has the option to make products getting returned as Non-Resalable by clicking on the pencil on the product line (1), and then selecting “Non Resalable” (2).

Force Clerk to Answer if Product goes back to Stock or Not

There is a second option that can be enabled on a per device basis that will force a clerk to have to specify whether each product is getting returned to stock or if the product is getting marked as non resalable.

To turn on this option, do the following

  1. Open the Cash Register module.

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click on the Options Tab.

  4. Click on the Device Tab.

  5. Put a check in Enable Non-Resalable Button on Returns.

  6. Close and reopen the Cash Register module.

This is a Device only setting. Setting this option will change the behavior on that specific device only.

Each line in the return will now have a yellow bar turn up initially so the clerk can select to make the product Non Resalable (1) or Return to Inventory (2).
