Astro best practices guide

One of the common issues with Astro is that someone will change their password to log in to Astro. This becomes an issue when the username and password is also used for our Astro integration. This will result in authentication errors when trying to ring up or refund customers until the password is updated in the integration. This can be avoided by creating a login only used for the integration.

To create an Astro login for store use :

  1. Login to Astro

  2. Once you login you will need to click on Actions in the top menu and then choose Account Management.

  3. In Account Management you will want to go to the My Users section and click on the person icon with a plus.

  4. This will bring up a window where you will create the Astro account. Enter a name for the account. In the example it is the store name but it doesn’t have to be. Also you will need to set a user name. The example has it as an email address but it does not have to be one. You will need to set the User Type to Administrator. Set the Support Contact to another real user on the account. Click Save Changes when done.

Once the new account is made you will need to set the Astro integration to use the new account.

To do this

  1. Open Settings and Configuration.

  2. Click on the Add Ons button.

  3. Highlight The Astro Loyalty add-on.

  4. Click Manage.

  5. Change the username and password to the new one that was just created.

  6. Click Save when done.

If you have multiple locations you will need to do this for each location.
