Astro records a case everytime I ring up a can

Some offers and frequent buyer promotions through Astro are on case quantities. This guide shows you how to configure those items so a case gets sent and recorded in Astro only when you sell a case quantity.

Example Astro Offer

Some Offers and Frequent Buyer programs are on case quantities in Astro. An example of one of these is below.

Fussie Cat Astro Offer for $9 off a case of food.
Canidae offer for buy 12 cases, get 1 case for free

In the examples above, when a customer of yours buys a case of Fussie Cat cat food, they will receive a $9 rebate, and for the Canidae, when they buy 12 cases, they get the 13th case for free. If your customers are instead receiving a $9 rebate per can or receiving a punch for each can they purchase, then that indicates that your case UPC for that item in Pinogy POS has a quantity set to 1 instead of the correct case quantity.

How do I fix the case quantity on a barcode?

  1. The first step to correct this issue is to identify the product. Locate the product by searching for the barcode in the Products module.

  2. Open the product, and look at the barcode under the Barcodes section.

  3. In this example the case barcode is “888641130924”. If you look to the right of the barcode, you will see that that barcode has a quantity of 1 instead of 24. Click on the barcode and click on “Manage”.

  4. In the dialog that opens, enter the case quantity in the “Qty” field, and then press save.

This product will now only get sent to Astro when 24 of them are purchase on the same invoice, which will result in it getting recorded correctly on Astro’s side.
