Website Signup Procedure
There are 2 paths to get to the e-commerce site signup.
The first is to click on the Person shaped button at the top right of the page and then click on Create Account.
The second is to proceed through the process of shopping, adding a product to the cart, and finally going to checkout. At this point it will ask if they are an existing user or whether they don’t have an account. If they don’t have an account then they need to click register.
At this point both paths lead to the same screen.
The customer will need to sign up by filling out the form. Once the form is filled out it will vary based on how they got here.
If they were checking out from a cart with items in it it will then continue the check out process.
If they registered from the button at the top it will take them back to the shop page.
If the customer was already in the system from being an instore customer then the customer may end up in there twice from this type of signup.
At this point, you can merge the 2 customers so any Loyalty benefits should combine. To do this Select both accounts and then select Mass Action. MAKE SURE TO CLICK THE IN-STORE WITH THE EXISTING BENEFITS FIRST SO IT BECOMES THE PRIMARY.
Now the 2 accounts have been merged and online orders should credit the account with the various loyalty benefits.
