This article provides a guideline for opening CSV, tab-delimited, and other text-based files in Excel without losing the leading 0 on GTINs, and without having numbers get converted to exponential format.

1. Click "From Text/CSV"

3. Click "Import"

4. Click "Transform Data"

5. Click the "UPC" header. (You will need to repeat this step, and the next three steps for each UPC/Barcode/SKU column to avoid them losing leading 0's and preventing them from getting converted to exponential numbers.)

6. Click "Data Type: Whole Number"
