This article is for anyone who wants to create a promotion or sale.
If a store wants to create a promotion or sale it is done in Products.
Open the Products app
Click on the Promos Tab
Click on New
You will then get a screen where you can select previously created Promotions or create a new one. To create a new one click on Create Custom
For our example, we will create a 10% off cases promotion. There are many other options to choose from and there will be a section to explain them afterward. In the Manage Promotion window, we will first have to set a few things.
Set the Name of the promotion
Set the type with the drop-down. There are a few options and depending on what is selected it will change the field where we set the discount percent, price, etc.
Set the Percent off. In the example, we set a percent value and it will take that much off an item purchased in the promotion.
Set the Limit By to Selected Products. There are other options here which will be explained later but for the example, we will use selected products.
Click on the Included Products tab. If you click Save here it will also give you an error saying you need to select the products and take you to the tab.
On the Included Products tab, you can do a search for the items you want to add.
Use the drop-down to select your search criteria type.
For the example, I did a search for the word case and it found a case of canned cat food. Select the item and then click Add Selected.
This will add the item to the list of products in the promotion. Once all of the items you want in the list have been added click Save to save the promotion.
When an item that is part of the promotion is rung up it will now show as 10% off.
The additional menus for Promotions will be added at a later date.
