How to set a Quantity Promotion (BOGO or Buy X get Y)
Pinogy offers the ability to create Quantity promotions. This type of promotion allows buying certain items in various quantities and getting additional items or different products for free or at a different set percentage off.
This type of promotion allows several variants.
Buy one, get one. This can be the exact same item or a mix of items that are set to be purchased and rewarded.
Buy 3 of x, get 2 of x free. This can be the exact same item or a mix of items that are set to be purchased and rewarded.
Buy 1 bag of x, get treat y free or at a percentage off. The purchase items and reward items can be completely different to allow for these types of promotions.
To create a Quantity Promotion, you will need to do the following:
Open the Products module.
Click the Promos button.
Click the +New button.
Click the +Create Custom button.
In the Type drop-down menu, select Quantity.
Set the primary settings of the promotion.
Type a name for the promotion.
Set how many of the reward items would be given. Default is 1 but can be 2 or more depending on the promotion. Ex: Buy 3 get 2 free.
Set what percentage off the rewards would be given. 100% would give the reward items for free.
Set how many of the included products will be required to be purchased. You can also set whether the items have to be the same or if the included products can be different. This only matters if more than one of the included products is required.
Set the Limit By drop-down. The default setting is Selected Products.
The other qualifiers can be set, but the above are minimum for the promotion to work. Be careful to make sure that the Limit By is also set properly, or items you did not intend to be part of the sale might default into being part of it. Selected Products is the safest to use.
Next, go to the Included Products tab and click the +Add button. These will be the products required to purchase to get the reward items.
Now select the products that will be required to be purchased for the sale. You can select multiple items to add at once. Click Close once done adding the required purchase products.
Next, click on the Reward Products tab, then click +Add.
Now select the products that will be rewarded. These do not need to be the same items required to be purchased. You can select multiple items to add at once. Click Close once done adding the reward products.
After setting all other qualifiers and other settings you want for the promotion, you can click Save.
The Qualifiers Per Invoice section on the left will be consistent across all the different promotion types.
In the Qualifiers Per Invoice section, there are several options that can be set for how the promotion is applied. The Limit By drop-down menu is used to set the products that qualify for the promotion. If you uncheck the Limit By then all products in your inventory will qualify for the promotion. What you select will also change the title of the next tab in the list.
Locations selection can be used to limit the promotion to certain locations if you have multiple.
Groups can be used to limit the promotion to certain customer groups.
The Delivery Type selection can be used to have the promotion apply to only certain types of orders such as the ones used by the Pinogy E-commerce websites.
The New Customer Only selection allows you to have the promotion only apply to new customers. When you check the selection you will be able to set a number of days since their first purchase to still consider them as a new customer.
The Repeat Orders Only selection allows the promotion to apply only to repeat orders.
The In-Store Only selection allows the promotion to be set to only apply to purchases in the store. This will block the promotion from applying to online transactions on a Pinogy E-commerce website.
The Date Range selection allows you to set a time range for the promotion to be active. Use the calendar menus to set the dates you want the promotion to run.
The Hour Range can be used to set the promotion to only be applied during certain times of day.
The Specify Days can be used to have the promotion only apply on certain days. Click the checkbox for the days you want it to apply.
The subtotal range is used for promotions where the subtotal of the sale has to be a certain amount before the promotion will apply.
