Using our system with a hotspot and/or wifi extenders.

This article is for anyone who may need to use a cell phone backup or a wifi extender for getting the pinpads to connect in a wireless-only setting. Note this is not officially supported by Pinogy so this would require support from your ISP or networking support.

Our system requires the internet to work. If the internet goes out or will not be available long term you will need an alternative method. If you have a computer that can use wifi you can use a cell network hotspot to run the software but will need a wifi extender with an ethernet port to connect the pinpads to the internet. This will also be needed in a setting where there are no ethernet cords run to where the registers are located.

Most of the mobile data companies offer a wireless hotspot with a built-in ethernet port and maybe multiple ports. As long as it has an ethernet port you can then connect a switch or similar device to add additional ethernet ports as needed. You will need at least 1 ethernet port per pin pad.

Please check with your mobile data provider for a model that works with their network and has an ethernet port. Your networking helpgroup should also be able to set them up and connect your equipment to them after that.

If you need Wifi extenders to connect the pin pads have you networking helpgroup get wifi extenders with ethernet ports to connect to your wifi and then run the ethernet cords to the pinpads to allow them access.

Again all of this is not supported by Pinogy Reps. If you devices cannot access the internet you will need to contact your ISP or networking helpgroup.
