Pet Status

As a reference, the following are the pet statuses in the system, along with their intended uses:

• Available: The pet is available to be sold.
• Coming Soon: Pets that are expected to be received by the store in the near future.  Pets in this status have not been received by the store, and thusly do not count toward days on hand.
• Exception: this status is meant to be used when the pet has been received, but for whatever reason, you are not going to sell the pet.  It could be that the pet died, you sent it back to the breeder/broker, or you gave it away for any number of reasons.  When you use this status, we advise stores to write the specifics about why the pet was set to the exception status to the pet notes so they are available afterwards as a reference.  Pets in this status do not count toward days on hand.
• Isolation: The pet is currently in isolation for treatment of a condition.
• On Hold: Use this status to denote a pet that is not currently available, and where another status isn't more specific.
• On Layaway: The pet is currently on a layaway.
• Sold - The pet has been sold.  Pets in this status do not count toward days on hand.

Outside of the statuses, you can also delete a pet.  This is only intended to be used for pets that have been created in the system, but you end up never actually taking possession of the pet.
